Beaver Creek Ski Resort

Just a short drive from Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek offers yet another winter Rocky Mountain sports paradise. With choices ranging from the smooth, manicured runs of Bachelor Gulch, to the advanced terrain on Grouse Mountain, this ski resort has something to suit everyone’s skill level. Beaver Creek grooms 20 hours a day, seven days a week, to maintain the prime conditions that make it so desirable, and able to host such renowned events as the Birds of Prey Men’s World Cup.

Beaver Creek is proud of the fact that the resort relies 100% on wind power. Another feature Beaver Creek is famous for are the delicious, warm, chocolate chip cookies served just at the base of the resort at the end of each day. It’s the little things that count, and Beaver Creek does them right.

With 4 terrain parks and 1 halfpipe, Beaver Creek caters to snowboarders just as much as skiers! Both groups of winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy all that the 1,815 acres of terrain have to offer. Additionally, Beaver Creek expanded its tubing section during the 2009-2010 season, with a new, six lane tubing hill, running 300 feet in length!

And the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down; Beaver Creek hosts nightly family activities, ranging from snowshoe tours, to ice skating, to rail jams, to Thursday Night Lights. Children also enjoy the variety of games provided (Rebound Trampoline, Game Garage), while enjoying après s’mores.

Aside from the aforementioned activities, Beaver Creek has a few staples to its winter season. In November, the World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Celebration takes place, followed in December by the Men’s World Cup event. The New Year brings in the Talons Challenge – testing skiers ability to conquer 13 black diamond and double black diamond runs. Bon Appetite Magazine hosts the Culinary and Wine Focus in January, and February brings a weekend of comedy when The New Yorker On The Slopes takes place; giving New Yorker cartoonists the chance to sharpen their comedic skills!

So wherever your interests lie when it comes to winter activities, come to Beaver Creek and find it all. Revel in the luxury of this mountain, and find out why our slogan is, “not exactly roughing it!”
